Rescue Project, Pt. 2 - _TNY_6830
I discovered this lime swallowtail (Papilio demoleus), also known as the chequered swallowtail, submerged in the moat beneath the chrysalis cabinet at the Haga Ocean butterfly house. After lifting it up out of the water, it appeared to be alright and actually surprisingly active sitting on my finger.
It was very wet though so I sort of improvised and used a corner of the small terry cloth towel I keep in my back pocket to wipe the sweat off my face there to very carefully suck up some of the water soaking its wings.
After that, with it beginning to look like a butterfly again, I placed it on one of the feeding stations with plastic flowers sprayed with sugar water so it could gather some new energy.
