The Cutest, Pt. 5 - _TNY_5552
Nearly every time the last couple of years when I have come across v-fronted jumper (Aelurillus v-insignitus), the males (like this one) have kept looking sligthly downwards which makes for a less good shot. The females don't appear to do this, but the males which definitely have more striking looks, keep messing with me.
This fellow however, did not do this and both let me herd him a bit with my finger to pose better, but also kept looking into the camera for several of the shots!
The Swedish vernacular name for this species is "vinkelhoppspindel", meaning the angle jumping spider, and while not particularily visible from this angle (hah!), you can clearly see the distinct chevrons on the males head which is the reason for the name in a couple of the other photos.
