Looking at this shot, at first I see a dragonfly - and then I notice its reflection down below - and then I realise it isn't a reflection at all but another dragon dating the first one. You?
The species is called the small whiteface (Leucorrhinia dubia) which I think this photo explains the reason behind quite succinctly. Male up top and female below.
