The giant owl butterfly (Caligo memnon) lives up to its name and its wingspan can reach 150 mm or 6". It is generally pretty cool about getting close so for this shot, I set up closer than what would fit in frame.
The solution was to take two shots (one of the top half and one of the bottom) and then stitch them together using Kolor Autopano Giga, resulting in a 9159x9159 pixel photo (83 megapixel).
