Forgetful Me - _TNY_6117
Yesterday (ie September 28th, 2023) I went to yet another visit at the Haga Ocean butterfly house on my way to work (which makes more sense if you know I work nights).
Before going to the butterfly house , I pack my camera in an insulated bag together with a heated buckwheat pillow to combat lenses fogging up due to the temp difference (like so: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52736833234/). I also make sure the tripod foot and hood is mounted on the lens and bring the teleconverter. Plus the tripod.
Except when I don't. Yesterday when I was gathering my stuff from the car I couldn't find the tripod bag and briefly wondered where it was - before realising that I forgot to pack it in the first place!
So that is why this shot of a giant owl butterfly (Caligo memnon) is shot at ISO800, f/4 and 1/125s . With the tripod, it would probably have been at something like ISO200, f/6.7 and 1/4s instead.
Still quite pleased with the end result though.
