Me and My Bro - _TNY_5512
Two Elasmucha fieberi shield bugs right next to each other on a leaf in the Mjällådalen nature reserve near Härnösand, Sweden.
This species doesn't have a common English name, but as compensation, let me offer you the Swedish one as it is a mouthful. It's known as the "bukprickig björkbärfis" which if we translate it in parts becomes something like "belly-spotted birch shield bug".
There is a quite similar species known as the parent bug (Elasmucha grisea), but that one lacks the two small "spikes" at the edge of the carapace of this one. I actually found and shot some E. grisea on the same day so photos of those are coming up eventually.
