Overexposed Ex-pest - _NY_5259
This shot from the Rudan nature reserve in Handen, south of Stockholm, Sweden, came out looking pretty normal - which would surprise you if you saw the unedited RAW file which was ridiculously over-exposed.
But somehow it was possible to dial down the exposure and with a little extra Photoshop work, it came out pretty nice.
This is the larvae of the common pine sawfly (Diprion pini) which was having a pretty bad day.
It is a serious pest which in large groups like to consume vast quantities of pine needles. This one was deceased though and I found it on some ferns, so I'm sort of thinking it fell down from a pine tree above
