Sometimes, food with colour is better. At least that must be what this male pellucid fly (Volucella pellucens) was thinking as he abandoned the white great masterwort (Astrantia major) and instead moved to a flower on the pink variety of the same flower in my mother-in-law's garden outside Härnösand, Sweden.
