Blue Eye - _TNY_0036

A closeup on the head and thorax of a Peleides blue morpho (Morpho peleides) showing some nice hairy detail - the red streaks look cool and aren't really something you notice when you see the whole butterfly in real life.

The depth of the blue in the eye is also cool. If you zoom in on that one, you'll see I managed to (barely) capture some of the individual facets of the compound eye.

For a wider shot of this one, showing the entire butterfly, please have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52399646306/
