While walking to lake Sandasjön in Älta, Sweden, we crossed a small bridge over a creek where I met another photographer. He had a huge Sigma 100-600 lens or something similar on his camera and it turned out he was shooting beutiful demoiselles (Calopteryx virgo) over the creek.
We talked a bit and I mentioned my chances of capturing one of those was pretty slim as my lens couldn't focus further away than 10.1 cm / 4".
Later the same day, when we were returning, we crossed the same bridge and I decided to have a go at shooting the demoiselles anyways.
To my surprise, a couple of them were surprisingly cool with me and my lens so I ended up getting shots at 1:1 of both this male beautiful demoiselle as well as a female here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52260782458/
