Orange Eyebrows, Pt. 2 - _TNY_1442S6

My wife is in nursing school and her summer vacation just started, so a couple of days ago when the weather looked good, we packed a bag and drove out to the Havtornsudd Point on the Gålö peninsula (in the inner archipelago of Stockholm, Sweden) and enjoyed breakfast next to the water.

Right next to were we sat was a diabase rock which the waves (or possibly the ice sheet of the last ice age) had smoothed off.

To my surprise I noticed a weevil on it and when I looked closer it turned out to be a banded pine weevil (Pissodes pini), a species that would feel more at home on a pine tree than a bare rock, but I wasn't complaining.

This really isn't the prettiest weevil I've seen, but it had some nice textures and also, do zoom in and check out those orange and super cool eyebrows!

This is a six exposure focus stack compiled using Zerene Stacker.
