Sort of Beneficial, Pt. 3 - _TNY_1472S2

I found this Liophloeus tessulatus weevil on the side of my house and managed a couple of shots of it.

Weevils are often considered a pest in the garden (or commercial agriculture for that matter), but I obviously like them for being cute and interesting subjects.

This one however is sorta kinda beneficial in that they like to eat the plant known as ground elder (Aegopodium podagraria).

If you have ever had this plant in your garden, chances are it's still there, as it is incredibly good at resisting eradication and pretty much always seem to come back.

So you see, having these guys around waging war on the bad plant could be a good thing.

After taking a couple of shots of it on the side of my house (as can be seen in Pt. 1 here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51580625812/) I moved it to this yellow flower which I for the life of me can't seem to remeber the name of. This is two separate shots which I focus stacked inton one using Zerene Stacker for a little extra depth of field.

After that I couldn't resist moving it a second time and but it on e a cornflower for some extra punchy colours in part 2 (which made it to Explore) here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51633370383/.

I am not sure what the white stuff on its elytra is. It could be pollen from a flower it has visited or some type of fungus.
