Small Dark Stranger - _TNY_5045
There are quite a lot of macro shots of the female goldenrod crab spider (Misumena vatia) out there, either in all white or all yellow and sometimes in the light green colour they also can shift to. (They don't come in different colours but can actually shift though it takes a couple of days.)
Photos of the males, however, are decidedly more scarce. Not only do they look completely different, but they are also clearly smaller which makes them more difficult to shoot. I think they look just as cool as the ladies though with their multi-colour stipe setup.
This little guy was hanging out in a cow parsley, Anthriscus sylvestris, along with several white females, two of which were busy eating flies.
2.7:1 magnification shot, taken using the Canon MP-E65mm lens.
