Lost & Found, Pt. 2 - _TNY_8123
So I was searching the side wall of the garage hoping to find some of the jumping spiders that hunt there when I instead came across an Allygus mixtus leafhopper with a great-lookoing wavy patten on the back.
It wasn't interested in sticking around though so I only got this single shot of it - or at least so I thought.
That's because as I rounded a corner on the garage I noticed one of the Attulus terebratus (formerly Sitticus terebratus) jumping spiders which had caught something and was enjoying its meal. It was not until I got the shots up on the monitor that I realized it was the leafhopper that flew away!
This was shot at 3:1 magnification.
Part 1 (at 2.7:1 magnification) here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/50409215006/
For the shot of the leafhopper before the spider pounced on it, look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/50346312661/
