I Destroy Weddings - _TNY_5614S3
The two dance flies (Hybotidae sp.) out on their nuptial flight decided to land on this pretty ox-eye daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare), not realizing the large and nicely camouflaged goldenrod crab spider (Misumena vatia) lurking on top of it! She was of course ready to destroy any and all chances of a happy wedding night.
Not sure how she did it, but both bride and groom was swiftly killed by this pretty bridezilla.
She stayed quite still while eating so I was able to take three shots and stack them together using Zerene Stacker (with just one leg having moved). Shot at 2.2:1 magnification using the MP-E65mm.
Part 2 (5 shots focus stacked) is here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/50767661861/
