The Angry Blue Stick - _TNY_0840
Here is a common blue damselfly (Enallagma cyathigerum) and the intensely blue colour tells us it is a male (the females are white instead). This one also looks decidedly less than happy about having its picture taken.
When chasing these through the grass it alway amazes me how easy it is to suddenly lose sight of a blue (admittedly not very large) stick against the green grass - but I do. Repeatedly. I see it, I see it, I don't see it.
