This is not a Bee Shot - _TNY_9645
Looking at this photo you'd be excused for thinking it is a slightly out of focus shot of a European honey bee (Apis mellifera).
However, if you look a little closer down in front of the bee you might notice a tiny metallic wasp which makes the bee appear to be a giant in comparison.
This little guy is in fact a Chalcid wasp in the Pteromalidae family. These are parasitoid wasps and illustrate quite well that no matter how small insects are, there always seem to be something smaller.
