Good Fortune - _TNY_9966

The common money spider (Diplocephalus cristatus) has a curious name - what's money about it?

Turns out it's called that way because of old superstition that if you see one of these running on you it has come to spin you new clothes - ie to bring you good fortune.

Look at that, superstition about spiders that aren't all doom and gloom. Who would've thought?

This one was running on the wall of my mom's summer house so I suppose it got some good fortune as well then.
