Facehugger Remains? - _TNY_5449

While walking on a local jetty near my mother's summer house, I noticed this on the top of a pillar.

 

It is the exuviae of some sort of damselfly where it has climbed out of the water before spitting open so the adult damsel could get out and begin its life on the wing.

 

I must say it really reminds me of a miniature version of a facehugger from the Alien movie franchise.
