The Warden of My Garden - _TNY_9433
This little lady is a European garden spider (Araneus diadematus). The species is also known in English as the diadem spider, the crowned orb-weaver and - more along the names in most other countries - the cross spider.
They can vary quite a lot in the base colour, from almost black to bright orange and everything in between.
Anyways, this one hade made her web in our small back yard, pitching in to limit the number of flies there.
