Green Metallic - _TNY_9441

These guys look so out of place in the Swedish fauna. It's a male Philodromus running crab spider in the aureolus group. P. aureolus is known as the wandering crab spider, but the taxonomy of the species group is a bit messy as there are several very similar species recently discovered so I can't say with certainty that this is a P. aureolus.

The way they shimmer in metallic green (or purple) looks so darn cool but if you ask anybody if we have metallic spiders in the country you will get a most definite "no" from most everybody.

I found this one on the side of my neighbour's house which explains the red colour. Obviously I would prefer having him on something with better colours to make the green pop more, but remember that running" part of the name? Well, let's just say that if you find them sitting still you shoot them sitting still right there. moving them or just making them move means you have to chase a *very* fast (and very small) spider and getting a closeup then is a lost cause.
