No, this male zebra spider (Salticus scenicus) isn't doing some bizzare yoga. It is actually getting ready to launch himself from this blade of grass to the next one in his efforts to cross the lawn.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to catch him actually doing that lunge, but it still looks kind of cool, right?
Also, note the huge chelicerae that he, like all adult males of some Salticus species, sports.
