This is Spike. He's a Florida snapping turtle, Chelydra serpentina osceola, and has been with me since late 1996 and really prefers to stay in the water of his aquarium, but on occasion he's out for a little walk.
The photo is actually over ten years old and was shot using a Sony DSC-P120 compact back in 2004.
