I recently got my new printer (Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II) and was going through some old photos, doing the occasional re-edit along the way. This was one such photo that I wasn't entirely happy with the first time I edited it, but this is much more in line with the emotion I felt when I was sat up by these rocks in the rather blustery conditions while the storm was blowing through.
I've done a manual exposure blend using one RAW file at three different exposures, one for the foreground and mountains, another for the mountains in the distance and a third for the sky, melding them together in Photoshop.
I think I used 0.3 and 0.6 ND grad SE filters to balance the exposure originally and make sure I captured as much detail as possible. I'm really pleased how this came out in print... just a shame I can't show that to you via the internet!
