Fly Inside a Rose.jpg
found this tiny recently deceased fly in my conservatory so I placed him inside a Rose taken from my garden which I held with a small clamp inside a light tent. I illuminated the tent with two daylight build to each side and put a speed light directly behind the rose and used another speed light with a small soft box to illuminate from the front which I hand held. I used a Tokina 100mm Macro with a couple of extension tubes at F8 1/250 100 ISO and took 29 shots moving a little each time with the Velbon Super Mag Slider. This is the first time I've used all this equipment together so it took a bit of trial and error. I first tried to stack in photoshop but it just kept coming out wrong with blurred parts and hairs all over the place so I then tried out the trial version of Zerene stacker which proved far better. Apart from stacking there aren't really any other edits. Quite pleased with this attempt and it was quite fun to do so I'll be on the hunt for more dead bugs to put in the light tent.
