CMOS Image Sensor Chip

While at Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL), Professor Eric Fossum invented the CMOS image sensor that enabled digital cameras to be miniaturized for the first time—now the foundational techology for all cell phone cameras everywhere. The sensor is small enough to fit on Professor Fossum's fingertip.
