A Victorian Railway Lineside Hut

Hidden away in the undergrowth hard by the magnificent Fledborough Viaduct is this interesting little lineside hut (actually at the bottom of the embankment just before the Eastern end of the viaduct). The brickwork on the chimney, with alternate layers of red & blue bricks matches that of the (now disused) viaduct, and the two are clearly contemoraries. That dates this hut to 1896 or before - the year the viaduct was opened to traffic by the Lancashire, Derbyshire & East Coast Railway Company (later bought by the Great Central).
