DSC_0367 Cable beach, Broome - Australia

Western Australia - Broome, Cable beach, a beach of 22km long.

Camels were imported in large numbers in Australia in the 19th century for their use in the building up of the telegraph network after the linking of Broome to Indonesia with a cable( thus Cable beach). Nowadays, Australia has the world largest population of wild camels and is breeding camels for export to several Arabian countries!!!
