The Zendala was traced onto watercolor paper them painted with watercolors. It is drawn with a Micron 01 pen and shaded with graphite pencil. The tangles are from Sandy Bartholomew's book, Totally Tangled - Chic and Flora. I also used Helen's Williams' tangle - Leaflet. Thanks for viewing. I'm hoping you'll comment.
This one is large, and drawn with colored gel pens, shaded with prismacolor pencils and sponged background in green and black. Tangles used: Afterglo, Crescent Moon, Baton. The leaves are a variation of either Ennies or Droplets.
Micron, Staedtler pigment pens, Prisma colored pencils, Pencil shading, Sharpie Ultra fine colored markers.
I have tried new colors in pen for the first time......I am still inclined to use black but it was fun.
November 6th. AEDM. At the same time, I finally completed a Zendala Dare! The last one, #29, but it's a start!
Zentangle and zendala done with micron pens, pencil shading, colored with Sharpie Ultra fine markers.
This will be my Zendala Dare #5, at least the first one, when I get my blog updated. Tangles used: Groovy, Ennies, Opus variation, Sanibelle, and then the big booboo. The plan was cadent. After drawing one of them (at the top) which was correct, I somehow reversed my S-curves and ended up with something else, I think it's a cross between Cadent and Kuzek. That was my last tangle, so I didn't start over. I shaded it on a copy because I wanted to watercolor the original, which also didn't exactly work out, shown on next photo. Tile is approximately 6" square.
Bic Mark It permanent ink markers on a Hanes mens small cotton vee neck tee shirt (only shirts I could find at the time)
I drew this Zendala Dare from The Bright Owl on yellow cardstock (7x7), using Micron .005 pen. I highlighted the "pearls" and other areas with white graphite pencil and white gel ink. I also used a light grey ink pen to shadow. The Tangles I used are Cockles & Mussels, Trimonds, Facets (var.), as well as some line work of my own. Thanks for viewing my art. Looking forward to your comments.
HOT or HEAT ???
I've chosen to use HEAT as I found more tangles that I'd like to try with these H, E, A, T alphabets. I've used Henna Drum in the centre to give a free flowing effect, Eddy at the outer sides, Auraknot in the triangular shapes and Triral that joins the Auraknot triangles together.
This has turned out rather 'flowery'...which I didn't expect. I may try another one if I get a chance to within this week.
a tangle i came up with. i have since seen some other variations from other people. my inspiration was a picture i saw on the internet of a wall screen. i was listening to a book about serial killers at the time and one of them had a fascination with the minoutar.

thanks for looking - I've incorporated a pattern I developed called 'Maddie'.
A second entry for the zendala challenge. I took a lot of liberties with the original drawing, printing it very, very lightly, and making triangles where they didn't exist before. Tangles used: Paradox, Munchin, Fricle, and Tipple. I filled the center after several tries to find a tangle I liked in the center that would go with the paradox emphasis.
This is my first hand drawn zendala with a compass, protractor and a ruler. It has 6 segments and I found the directions in Suzanne McNeill's book: Zen Mandalas. Tangles: Nightsbridge, Crescent Moon, and Suzanne McNeill's "Dogbane". Drawn in 01 Sakura Micron pen and shaded with graphite.

For the "I am the Diva" Challenge #62
I decided not to shade, just to see how I liked the graphic design of plain black and white on my first-ever Zendala. I used one of the pre-strung tiles and then went off-track with it, adding a spiral over the whole.
Looks like my technical skills failed to get it posted into the linking widget @ Laura's site, but that will teach me to leave it till the last minute...
