it's so hard for me to get away from structure - I don't do organic and Zendala's well at all.... I just can't see it. And then I see so many wonderful Zendalas from my fellow tanglers and I am in awe of their beautiful tiles. If you too would like to see them, please click here... thebrightowl.blogspot.ca
This one in color I added a challenge for myself. I had to find all the tangles in my books, not on line. Tangles used: Flora by Sandy Bartholomew, Fronds, Growth, and Tufted Leaves by Suzanne McNeill, Lacy by Sandra Strait, and another Suzanne McNeill, Dandelion Seeds, of which I did a variation. All but the leafy vine on the outside (Sandy Bartholomew) are available in the new book - Joy of Zentangle.
This Zendala was drawn on blue card stock with Micron .005 Pen and shaded with black & white graphite pencils. Thanks for viewing. I look forward to your comments. : D
This is a Zendala Template, I downloaded from www.lineweaving.com. It is part of their Sunday Circular Challenges. When I first saw this template, I drew a complete blank. Then I just dove right in, with no thought, strategy or plan.
Still catching up on dares I missed.
The Weekly Zendala Dare can be found at: thebrightowl.blogspot.com/
Even if you're not up to the challenge, you can view some incredible submissions! I highly recommend.
Thanks for looking.
I really like this template and to me it has an Oriental feel, maybe because of 'Zuan Chi' tangle I used on the outer edge.
Thank you for looking - your comments are most welcome :))
Once my computer is back to normal I will scan this one in. It's done on 9"x12" watercolor paper using the Micron Pigma marker size (smallest one) and pencil
This was an odd shape - I didn't realise it only had 7 points until after I started doing one - then I remembered what Erin wrote on her Blogg - it was different than other templates. It was interesting to say the least - not really sure how I was going to tackle it - I ended up doing 3 very different looking Zendalas.
thanks for looking.

For my second try with the diva challenge this week I thought I would do a Zendala tile with all straight line patterns. Tangles used: Bilt, Twile, Chard, and Paradox.
Adding my rendition of Zendala Dare #11. I think I'm now caught up on all the Dares. Decided to do this Dare using only lines. The triangles coming from the center of the picture remind me of Egyptian mummies. Around the rim seashells showed up. Interesting outcome on this Dare. Thanks for looking. Your comments are welcome and appreciated.
Accomplished using my Circular Sunday template for March 2012.
You can download the pdf version of this template from my blog at:
Enjoy!
My second attempt at this week's Zendala Dare. I used the tangle Camelia by Anna Mark, as well as some addition triangles and lines. It is drawn on pink card stock. The shading was done with white and black graphite pencil. Thanks for viewing and I look forward to your comments.
I did this group with just a compass and played with different circles. Just kept putting the point where two circles would meet. Then I zentangled them!!
I felt like this Zendala reminded me of Aztec designs so I tried to find original tangles that I felt fit the bill.
This is my 2nd Zendala Dare Challenge and is done on the tile version. This pic is the final one with a bit of extra fill. To see other entries www.thebrightowl.com
