From Lake Macbride State Park.
I went on a road trip to Palisades-Kepler state park in Cedar Rapids. I just wanted to do 1 last road trip before it got to cold. I'll defiantely be going back in the spring. I also went to Lake Macbride state park.
An out of focus Deborah shot with a Zeiss 50mm lens...really I was wanting to pick out the detail in the grass and the stunning light. As the colours all feel right, I think I did ok.
Whisps of pine smoke rising from a light brass incense burner that I purchased at the Arab market in Jerusalem. John Maguire, a now retired (and since passed) Black Creek Pioneer Village tinsmith, made up a strong copper convex disc with air holes which will substantially extend the life of this burner. I even cover the disc with aluminum foil to keep the copper clean. He learned his trade during WW II as he repaired the bodies of bombers when they returned from their missions.

I ragazzi di A Whisp for Tibet mostrano la cartolina da inviare all'ambasciata cinese (11 luglio 2008)
I really wonder if a little bit of the whispyness (is that really a word?) of this shot comes from the vibration of the camera. I really wanted to have a remote shutter but right now would rather spend my photo gear dollars on other things but as I was shooting I really really wished I had sometihng.
I even debated about using the self timer, but figured I was really pushing my luck if I did that!
