“Whisp,” sighed Spectre, “why are you hiding behind a Buddha?”
“Cause a I went to a hootenanny last night,” replied Whisp.
“I see,” said Spectre, “what’s that? Like a knees up for owls?”
“That’s what I thought it was,” moaned Whisp, “turns it’s a pensioners strip club…”

So i spent a few hours at the lovely village of bubbenhall on Tuesday evening as the skies were relatively clear decided a trail was in order over their village church, I did have one or two whisps of cloud which caused some bother, you can still see the odd bit which i have missed during processing in the final image, setting for this was ISO 3200 F4 (although i did mean to stop down to 5.6) and im certain i did although my exif states otherwise (and it never lies) and a total of 214 stacked 15 second exposures
White Cosmos bloom from my garden, a variety called Psycho which has extra petals and resembles a daisy.
This is a lullaby I learned in a college music class:
"Fold your white wings, dear Angels, Fold your white wings;
Dew falls and nightingale softly now sings.
Across the lawn lie shadows, so still, so deep,
Dear loving Angels, pass not by, Hush me to sleep.
Night falls, and whisp'ring goes the wind Along the sea;
Fold your white wings, dear Angels, Fold them, dear Angels,
Fold them round me.'

I took this shot on a family day trip to Barmouth. I must have taken about 100 shots to get this one, but I'm pleased with the end result so think it was worth it.
This past weekend I went on a small excursion to my buddy's cabin, about 120k outside of Hay River, NT. We took a walk down to the water and watched the aurora for a little while. While they weren't as bright as some nights, the near-full moon really lit up the rocky bank to add a little scenery to the skies above.
[Wikipedia]

Another photo taken on beautiful Balmedie beach. This time I was on the beach witnessing a biblical sunrise. The colour, saturation and intensity from the rising sun was pretty spectacular. I really liked the long whisps of clouds picking up some of this colour against a cooler sky so set up this composition with the main part of the sunrise out of shot .
Even though the bright and fiery part of the sky is way over to the right hand side i believe the curve of the water heading left is a good counter too this.
Just for your info, the strange concrete blocks are the remnants of WW2 coastal defences
The eagle eyed among you will spot where this stream exits into the sea, I would rather it featured a bit more prominently in the photo but you cant have everything!
Looking down on Ladybower Reservoir from Bamford Edge. The whisps of mist of the mornings temperature inversion melting away.
Rainy night
Evening storms began rolling in a little before darkness fell upon the slumbering neighborhood. Intricate shaped clouds filled the multicolored evening sky, tinted blue, grey, orange and green, with continuously changing shapes and tonalities. Spats of lightning backlighted the nebulosities while distinct roars of thunder echoed through the distance, seemingly bouncing between the clouds. The clouds, some dark, some bright, each reached out in the surrounding space with delicate tendrils and swirling whisps of gaseous moisture. Each portion of the clouds dissolved, and grew, at the same time. An unchoreographed ballet played out in the firmament. The clouds were free to express their nature unhindered, with no restraint or ideal to strive for. The self was lost gazing into the stormy energy parading past in the sky this night. So delicate the scene one dared to not disturb it with thoughts. Silent observation dissolves the self, the center from which one observes, and attentive energy permeates the mind. The brain is then capable of insight which is not the product of thought. Abandoning the false, immersing in the true. One sees that in stillness there is tremendous energy, shape and form change, yet movement is an illusion. When there is no anchor, no self-center, nothing solid to hold to, there is complete freedom. A lone small black bird, a chimney swift, flew across the sky and the rain-filled clouds, barley flapping its wings as it transited, and was gone. It left no mark, no trace or evidence it had been. It too expressed its freedom. The sacred, the religious if one wants to call it that, is here. Not tomorrow when we have grown to emulate an ideal, achieved respect, or accumulated merit. Those are techniques to delay and avoid. Entertainment and neurosis. The sacred is not an ideal or concept created and shaped by thought, nor an illusion, which the thought loves to create. The raindrops could be heard coming, racing in from the North, before the storm hit. A curious rolling, tippy tapping, low grumble, quickly growing louder. And then it hit, all was wet immediately, the whole earth was soaked, and the peculiar, unmistakable scent of fresh rain filled the now damp air. It also brought a darkness upon the scene. The massaging sound stilled the mind into even deeper silence. Unlikely as it is, sound brought a silence, a fragile, delicate awareness, which one could destroy easily with just one thought. The splashing, spattering raindrops were bringing stillness to the brain, suspending its preoccupation with achievement and desire, along with the ever-present suffering and dissatisfaction. No method, practice, or technique can duplicate it or create it. Those only create repetition, a habit, which is a template of the past, and can never reveal the new, only the old. When the self, a fragment, is nothing, the mind is capable to be whole and be aware of all the fragments, but the fragment can never see the whole. The whole contains all the unknown and is uncorrupted by ideas, opinions, and prejudice. Uncorrupted, there is no space between the observer and that which is observed. No desire to become. Now the clouds lost all shape and merged into a one featureless gray blue sky as the unseen sun slipped below the edge of the beautiful earth and rain filled the night.

These are all of the unique G1 Monster High characters released (image updated in December of 2015). The only thing missing from this photo are four of the Fright-Mares (Olympia Wingfield, Caprice Whimcanter, Meadoe Flurry, and Merry Trotabout). I never would have dreamed of just how many MH dolls there would be in only five years time....

Despite the conditions being hectic, Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona is a great place to shoot. The rocks come alive with each new angle that the light hits it. During mid-day, the narrow openings at the top allow narrow shafts of light to fall all the way from the sun to the canyon floor below.
Here, a bit of sand fell down in the canyon, causing a ghostly whisp in the light beam. A few seconds later, and the effect was gone. I'm glad I had my camera pointing in that direction and ready to go at that instant!

Since I haven't paid much attention to my MH dolls recently, I decided to get them off my shelf and take some photos of them :D
This is the view to the East, towards the Rocky Mountains and across the Columbia Valley, as the sun is setting over the Purcell Ranges of interior British Columbia (where we happened to be camped out). If you look closely on the left, you can see the shadow of the truck and tent, which I'll post an absolute doozie of tomorrow.
Additional Gear: LEE 105mm Landscape CPL
The next in the Fairmont Series, this one is from the latest camping trip, sans tent and truck and other miscellaneous camping gear. Just the gorgeous view of the whispy, sunlit clouds and mountain peaks to the East, from our mountain top paradise! Next up, the view to the West... It's a dandy!
Glorious colours on a gorgeous, bright autumn day, a Saltire blue sky, just a few clouds, whisping past the hills.

Ode on the Spring
By Thomas Gray
Lo! where the rosy-bosom'd Hours,
Fair Venus' train appear,
Disclose the long-expecting flowers,
And wake the purple year!
The Attic warbler pours her throat,
Responsive to the cuckoo's note,
The untaught harmony of spring:
While whisp'ring pleasure as they fly,
Cool zephyrs thro' the clear blue sky
Their gather'd fragrance fling.
Where'er the oak's thick branches stretch
A broader, browner shade;
Where'er the rude and moss-grown beech
O'er-canopies the glade,
Beside some water's rushy brink
With me the Muse shall sit, and think
(At ease reclin'd in rustic state)
How vain the ardour of the crowd,
How low, how little are the proud,
How indigent the great!
Still is the toiling hand of Care:
The panting herds repose:
Yet hark, how thro' the peopled air
The busy murmur glows!
The insect youth are on the wing,
Eager to taste the honied spring,
And float amid the liquid noon:
Some lightly o'er the current skim,
Some show their gaily-gilded trim
Quick-glancing to the sun.
To Contemplation's sober eye
Such is the race of man:
And they that creep, and they that fly,
Shall end where they began.
Alike the busy and the gay
But flutter thro' life's little day,
In fortune's varying colours drest:
Brush'd by the hand of rough Mischance,
Or chill'd by age, their airy dance
They leave, in dust to rest.
Methinks I hear in accents low
The sportive kind reply:
Poor moralist! and what art thou?
A solitary fly!
Thy joys no glitt'ring female meets,
No hive hast thou of hoarded sweets,
No painted plumage to display:
On hasty wings thy youth is flown;
Thy sun is set, thy spring is gone—
We frolic, while 'tis May.

The Blue Fairy Whispers to Pinocchio, 1995
Pastell auf Papier auf Aluminium,
170 × 150 cm
Margarida Marinho
