The classic 917K in Gulf colors, inspired by Steve McQueen's #20 from the movie "Le Mans".
The model is based largely on the Blue Bullet set from 2010, with some pieces added from a Finn McMissile kit. This version has a more sloping nose than the original.

Having fun dragging the shutter and gettin creative. This one with just a little sharpening and definition. I like how the cluttered background/foreground becomes an artful blur
This is the beautiful Pororari River,one of several rivers that cut through deep limestone gorges in the Paparoa National Park on the South Islands West Coast.
I felt the image I originally posted was way oversharpened so here is a softer more natural looking version.

Couldn't help coming back to play with this CD again, especially as I thought I could improve on my earlier effort.
Could well have been wrong :) Though technically it might be better, not sure it has quite the same impact, as the colours are a bit more muted.
Whereas the previous shot used a snoot on one light and the other 2 in reflectors, which gave a bit of a messy light. This time I had all 3 lights in snoots which gave a much cleaner light outline. but I'm not sure it has the same character. This is mainly due to not being able to get the lights exactly where I wanted. It would have been easy if all 3 had been on tripods for precise postioning, but I made do with what I have :)
The previous shot is shown below to easier compare the two, plus the new setup.
