I bought this necklace of (fake, of course) pearls and this picture is pretty much the only time I've ever worn them. But I like how this picture came out, so... worth it?
Size mens generic, 65/35 blend of cotton/ poly or vice versa from how the fabric feels. I'd never really paid attention to how tuxedo shirt collars are constructed until this one, and unfortunately, there was no collar stand. I couldn't save anything from the collar to reuse in the final shirt.
What happened here???
It was made as a womens shirt with the buttonholes (as you're wearing it) on the right and the buttons on the left, so someone switched that around so that now there are buttonholes on both plackets?
I saw this at the thrift store and bought it anyway. Sometimes I make the most ridiculous choices because I am curious and motivated by challenge...
Going to 80's night tonight with a huge group of people. Bought a new outfit today. This shirt was calling to me the last time I was in Target, so today, since I found $10 in the parking lot, I thought, "Why the hell not?" And then me, since I'm so girly these days decided, "Hey! Let's get a new skirt too!" So here I am, all gussied up. Becki did my hair, it's a little crazy, but I think I like it.
Oh, and this shirt makes my boobs look even bigger than usual.
And my arms look stumpy thanks to the extreme angle of putting my camera in the cabinet above the toilet.
No collar stand! That would have been too easy.
The entire collar, including the wing tip, is cut from one piece of fabric. There's no stand and the wing isn't a separate piece. (Makes sense when you think about it being factory-produced, right?)
Luckily the shirt was long enough to salvage collar fabric from the trimmed-off hem.
finishing up my laundry in the basement. That tuxedo shirt I'm wearing only cost me $7!! and from JCrew too!
Okay, I'm belaboring the point, but seriously can you imagine putting this on your vintage Ken doll? much less thinking this had 'high resale value?' Blech! It's sitting in the sun in a combination of Boost and soapy water.
