Chicken mixed with preserved lemon, pepper, ground ginger, ras al hanout, tumeric, green olives and parsley. A new flavor set for most of the group.

tumeric grouper fried with dill, served with coriander and spicy shrimp paste. while cottages are quintessentially caker-Canadian, we go at it Asian style. First: borrowing the cottage from another family. Second: fitting 23 people under the roof for 3 days. Third: eating a LOT of good, albeit smelly, foods.

DaLah's left front foot has abscesses from her putting more weight than normal on it to compensate for her right front dislocated elbow. You see where the vet has cut away her toe nail to get to the abscessed region and clean it out. Her nail should grow back. Other parts of her foot were raw as well. The vet cleans the wounds twice a day and puts antibiotic ointment and tumeric in the wounds then protects them with a bandage made of pee pads taped together, then finally covers it all with a cloth elephant foot bag and tape. I helped by cleaning the cloth bags for reuse when possible.

This Sweet Pickle relish is made form organicaly grown ingridients. THIS DOES NOT IN ANY WAY INFER IT IS USDA CERTIFIED, IT IS NOT. This has a sweet flavor but also has a slight tang like "chow chow". Very delicious and healthy.

Ingridients: Cucumbers, sweet bell peppers, onions, celery seed, mustard seed, tumeric, apple cider vinegar, salt and sugar.

This is all thouroughly cooked at a high temperature and then sealed using a water bath canner.

If you want any more information on this please do not hesitate to contact me.

It's hot and sticky out too! I would remedy that with a glass of Rose( mas de la dame). As for the packaged food, I got it from a Malaysain grocery store because of the ingredient list: 'Tumeric chili, coconut, Galangal, rice, Onion, Curry, Sugar'. As for the name, I have NO IDEA! The box said Ketan Kuning Bumbu Kelapa, but I don't know

"Naturally dyed. Some with onion skins, some with red cabbage, and others with tumeric. The designs are flowers from the yard...dandilions and grape hyacinth How?...we pressed them to the raw egg and then securely tied the egg inside a pantyhose and boiled it. We're Orthodox Christian so traditionally we dye Red eggs for Pascha but these are fun too!"

Much simpler and lower calorie. Made as follows:

Spray some oil on a skillet. Add your chicken seitan. Dump on the tumeric and curry powder. Sprinkle red chili powder over the top. Then add frozen sweet potato cubes.

Add about a half cup of water, and simmer for about 2 minutes. Add 1/8 cup of flour. Stir until thick. Add Sriracha to your taste and set aside. (Note: I used a mango sauce I found at Safeway. If you can get a hold of it, BUY IT! I don't like it on it's own, but with other sauces it is fantastic.)

Cook up stir fry veggies and plop on top. Yum and yummer.

A spread of exotic spice that can be found in a balinese spa?!? Hmmm?

.... Hindu rituals are pretty elaborate, prior to the wedding they conduct a public drenching of the couple in each home seperately, where family members and friends take turn applying sandalwood paste tumeric oil and more till the look like walking monsters ;p

its pretty fun - just dont have a sister who keeps urging ppl to apply more ;p hehehe
