Colobopsis truncata are also called "door ants". You probably ask yourself why such name. Minor and media sized workers look quite casually, like any other ant, but their larger sisters (also workers) possess an unique trait - their head is of plug-like shape with which those ants can just.. plug the entrance to the nest!

Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatas).
This is about the best shot of dolphins I got that weekend. Not my best shot ever, but it has made it into Explore and been viewed 6000+ times as well as having 100+ 'favourites'. Thank you.
There are no guarantees to even see them, so seeing something is a plus. There were numerous sightings but most of my shots are of tails and/or fins. They did breach a couple of times but capturing that is another matter. 'Practice makes perfect' so figure I'll need to go back sometime! Hope you'll all come back to see.

Not a typical crassa, but an interesting plant which came to me via Emile Heunis who used to grow quite spectacular Haworthias on his smallholding near Durbanville (South Africa)

I tend to like all the quadrus skippers. This one I think has small transparent patches on the wings which look green here because of the setting.
