My wittle sammy got into some flour while we were baking!! Isn't he cute!?
-Song by: Never Shout Never-
I worked out all the numbers for this pattern months ago. When I decided to knit, I jumped head first into the 36" size, knitting AS INSTRUCTED. But wait, what am I doing? MY back waist measurement is 2" shorter than the standard back waist for this size. So with a short waist and a long torso, this waist shaping is going to fall really low on me. Too bad my current waist is about 10" too big to try this on.
I should rip if I want it to fit me well. Do you know how many miles of stockinette I'd be ripping? I am so desperate to get to the yoke! I would need to rip down to 3". Picking up on the bottom is not an option - there's a steek, I hate the way the bottom edge looks done top-down, I'm too invested in that tubular cast on.
You would rip, right?
It’s you
Why’s it always you
and never me?
I’ve never dared to let
my feelings free
Why’s it always you
and never me?
never cared
too much about honesty
I’m having trouble sleeping
I’m thinking of what you said
About the tears been shed
Leave me

Trouble loves me
Trouble needs me
Two things
More than you do
Or would attempt to
So, console me
Otherwise, hold me
Just when it seems like
Everything's evened out
And the balance
Seems serene
Trouble loves me
Walks beside me
To chide me
Not to guide me
It's still much more
Than you'll do
So, console me
Otherwise, hold me
Just when it seems like
Everything's evened out
And the balance seems serene
See the fool I'll be
Still running 'round
On the flesh rampage
Still running 'round
Ready with ready-wit
Still running 'round
On the flesh rampage
- At your age !
Go to Soho, oh
Go to waste in
The wrong arms
Still running 'round
Trouble loves me
Seeks and finds me
To charlatanize me
Which is only
As it should be
Oh, please fulfill me
Otherwise, kill me
Show me a barrel and watch me scrape it
Faced with the music, as always I'll face it
In the half-light
So English, frowning
Then at midnight I
Can't get you out of my head
A disenchanted taste
Still running 'round
A disenchanted taste
Still running 'round

Troubling Borders | Southeast Asian Women in the Diaspora
June 30 - October 07, 2012
Closing Reception & Readings: October 6, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Closing Conference: October 7, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Southeast Asian Women in the Diaspora: Troubling Borders in Literature and Art is an exhibition and conference featuring the writings and artwork of Southeast Asian women in the diaspora, highlighting women of Cambodian, Laotian, Filipino and Vietnamese descent and by women who identify as the often stateless Mien, Hmong, and Cham. In the aftermath of the cold war, many of these women now reside in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and other parts of the world. As an incredibly diverse group, their voices make visible the ruptures caused by colonization, war, globalization, and militarization.
