Once we got up into Michigan's Upper Peninsula, we ran into thunderstorms -- rain and then snow for 3 days straight. The rain pre-empted several of our planned waterfall and hiking excursions, but did give me lots of time to sit inside our cozy little camper playing with my art supplies.
Day 7 - Porcupine Mountains, Michigan.
I am looking at trees
they may be one of the things I will miss
most from the earth
though many of the ones I have seen
already I cannot remember
and though I seldom embrace the ones I see
and have never been able to speak
with one
I'll listen to them tenderly
their names have never touched them
they have stood round my sleep
and when it was forbidden to climb them
they carried me in their branches.

so my dad, sister, mom and I drove to Lockport today, they stayed by the shore of the river and i went to explore. I ended up finding this forest type of thing with trees spaced out and everywhere. Being the silly person i am, i didnt have my tripod so i resulted to using the branches on the trees to stablize my camera, but it didnt end up working out, but i still enjoy this :)

Whoohh, this was nice! I had the honor to give an interview for a new book of Damien Lafont - very exciting subject about being a performing artist. Twelve deep questions on specific aspects of what is happening with me when I sing or dance. It was indeed great to look at these points for myself.

we had the best time yesterday! we did all the summer things. taking pictures outside, going in the pool, roasting marshmallows over a candle to make smores. mmmm. it was great.
Now that I keep an eye out for them, there seems to be bees everywhere! Here is a small bee hive in a hollow of a tree.
