Avenue of the Giants Auto Tour between Highway 101 & the Eel River in Humboldt Redwoods State Park

My big girl decided that she wanted to see what it would feel like to be a tree hugger. Now she knows.

Green is the new black!

Freya, get down. You look like a koala.

"Though not the oldest redwood in the forest, this large tree is over 950 years old, 7 is currently around 250 ft tall, though originally it was much taller. It has survived not only the ravages of time but also the 1964 flood of the area, a 1908 attempt at logging, & a direct lightning strike which removed the top 45 feet of the tree (making its original height close to 300ft). It is from its age & the perceived hardiness to the fates that the tree derives its name. Markers are visible on the tree, denoting the heights of where the loggers' axes & the floodwaters struck the tree.

Situated in the northern half of the Avenue, The Immortal Tree is easy to find, & has a large gift shop & parking area in front of it."

She loves it when I make her do stupid things in public so I can take a photo. All 13 year olds do. (not really)

Château de Condé à Chantilly, France

an arboreal blend of eucalyptus and cedar perfect for any tree hugger. This blend smells like cedar after a rain; smoky, spicy and slightly sweet with a hint of camphor.

Treehugger, how about treekisser?

This was a huge old tree. I forgot variety. It had to be taken down because it was ailing and could be dangerous.. It was probably one of the biggest trees in Rock Hill.

The TreeHugger Project was the featured environmental art project at the United Nations Climate Change Conference this year to be held in December in the beautiful city of Poznan, Poland, December 1-12th

The installation “Lonely Tree, Lonely People” invited all passers by to join the line just for a moment, to feel how it may be if there is indeed just one tree left to hug, or just even to look at.

So many of these tree huggers on that tree...

Super sensitive to preflash. With ETTL, i managed to captured only part of its wings or nothing. Had to switch to manual mode.
