Built in 1938, Boathouse 4 is not just a building; it’s a living testament to the rich history of maritime craftsmanship. This iconic structure has withstood the test of time and now houses a remarkable collection of small military craft.
Swedish Royal Navy torpedo boat T38 in full speed (1954). At the time she was the fastest warship in the world (51.6 knots recorded in1956). My colorization of an image in the Maritime Museum of
Sweden archive (Digital Museum). (With regard to the color of the boat, I took some "artistic" liberty.)
Marinmuseum in Karlskrona has this information:
"The T38 is one of the Naval Museum's smallest museum ships but it is perhaps the nicest. She was built at the Kockum's mechanical showroom in Malmö and was launched in July 1951. The T38 is one of the 10 motor torpedo boats, in the so-called T 32 class, which was ready in the early 1950s.
With a weight of 40 tonnes, a length of 23 meters and a width of 5.5 meters, she was a small warship. With her three W18 motors, her combined power amounts to an impressive 4,500 horsepower. Such motors are not completely fuel-efficient, however, and the T38 tank space could save up to 10,000 litres when the ship was in the marine service.
The T38 was and still is extremely fast. In a speed test carried out in 1956, the vessel reached a speed of an impressive 51.6 knots, making it the world's fastest warship at that time."
When it's time to terminate trade embargo's, you either send Jedi or you bring out the naval strike force..

All of them have the same scale. Only my big Aircraft Carrier Graf Zeppelin was missing. Enjoy the picture!
When I originally built the torpedo boat for Kiosk, I was basing it off of a destroyer leader and I was still pretty ignorant of what a torpedo boat actually does.
That's not the case anymore, and this is to prove that. Also, camouflage. :D
For the universe of D&C V.
Question to you guys in the game; are you fine with me just replacing the nine torpedo boats I've already produced with this model? It's not really an upgrade; in fact, the old model had like eight torpedo tubes at an awful scale, because I didn't know how big a torpedo launcher actually was.
Anyways. The Ziamese have had torpedo boats for almost as long as the Royal Navy has been around. They were crucial to the defense of Ziam's sovereignty in the first invasion of the Ordenric fleet. The Lek Class happens to be the most recent incarnation of the abundant yet ever useful Ziamese torpedo boat. Designs for it have been around as early as 1909, though the plans would later go missing, only for it to be discovered that the briefly established Pyumon Kingdom had acquired them and put them to use.
Stats coming here in a second. <--- Maybe someday.

When Peresvet and Pobeda were completed on the Russian Baltic Sea Shipyards, they were immediately transferred to the recently "leased" harbour of Port Arthur on China. During this period, the ships were painted white, with the funnels in bright yellow.
When the Japanese attacked the Harbour on February 1904 (starting the Russo-Japanese War), they fought against the Japanese during the Battle of Port Arthur. Both ships had some of their anti-torpedoboat guns and secondary armament removed during the summer to bolster the defenses of the port.
They participated in the Battle of the Yellow Sea on 10 August 1904, in which Pobeda was lightly damaged while Peresvet, suffered a considerable amount of flooding.
After the ships returned to the Harbour, they were destroyed by the Japanese Army siege guns.
During this period, the two ships used a olive green camouflage.
The construction of Oslyabya was greatly delayed, and the ship found herself en route to the Far East when the War began. She returned to the Baltic Sea and was assigned to the Second Pacific Squadron that was intended to relieve the forces in Port Arthur.
Since it belong to the Baltic Fleet, it was painted Black with yellow funnels just like the other Baltic ships.
Oslyabya led the Second Division of the squadron during the battle and was the target of numerous Japanese ships during the early part of the battle, being the first modern battleship to be sunk solely by gunfire.

“They earned their keep a thousand times over” – General Douglas MacArthur
No saga of this war will live longer than that of four tiny mosquito boats pitted against overwhelming odds at Manila and Bataan. These midget fighters collected a toll of two Japanese cruisers, two invasion barges, an auxiliary aircraft carrier, a tanker, a strafing plane, and climaxed their breath-taking feats by bringing General MacArthur out of Corregidor.
Only 4 seventy-foot MTB’s – what might have been done had the Japanese met a swarm of these mosquito boats!
Much more will be heard from Motor Torpedo Boat Squadrons before the war is won, and Thompson workers are proud that many of the thousand-and-more different precision parts they are making are seeing service in these PT boats.

Cool train, I love the "torpedo boat " on the lead, I've always had a soft spot for them. The "torpedoes" are the air brake cylinders, which in this case have been moved to the roof because of an extra large fuel tank. They also sometimes ended up there because an engine was equipped for passenger service, and usual space was taken up by a water tank for the boiler.
I had a heck of a time figuring out where just where this was. The slide said Elmhurst, but where in Elmhurst? The backdrop didn't ring any bells so I checked on line for the Saab dealership, but not too surprisingly I drew a blank. Then I went to Google Street view looking for the buildings, the one across the street from the car dealership had a pretty distinctive roof, but a careful search from one end of the town to the other was unsuccessful. Then I got lucky, the slide was sharp enough that I could read the address on the Saab dealership (129) and I quickly discovered why I was having so much trouble; this is the current location of the underpass, and everything in this shot except the tracks is long gone! Definitely a snap shot of history!

The Seejäger class torpedo boat and Bergen class missile boats are two classes of fast attack craft designed to fill in the gaps of coastal defense of the Ottonian Imperium. They are a cheap and effective means to threaten any would-be amphibious invaders.
The Seejäger class is notable for its torpedo system which utilizes autoloading magazines of 4x torpedos to replenish each preloaded twin launcher.
As with the other ships I have been building recently these are built in 1:350 scale. They are based roughly on the hull design and general layout the German Type 148 Tiger class missile boats.

WWII German S-Boot. Scaled down and simplified a bit to be a practical minifig size.
Guns from BrickArms and helmets from BrickForge.
This is a Tuck's Oilette published in July 1909 as a souvenir of a unique occasion in the history of the Royal Navy. The commentary on the reverse gives a flavour of the occasion.
"Never before in the history of nations has there been so remarkable an assembly of warships as that gathered here together in the Thames, and stretching in one great pageant, the full extent of the river, some 45 miles, to the Houses of Parliament. It is practically in London itself, the very heart of the British Empire, that the fleet is foregathering, and nothing could be calculated more certain to arouse patriotic pride and Imperial enthusiasm than this unique display of a mighty nation".
In the week from Saturday 17th July to Saturday 24th July 1909, ships from the Home and Atlantic Fleets were moored along the Thames from Westminster Bridge to the Nore Lightship in the estuary, some forty five miles. The larger ships, the Battleships and HMS Dreadnought were moored near Southend and the smaller ships further upstream. The photograph below shows Torpedo Boat destroyers moored at Westminster Pier, but there were also four submarines, two moored opposite the Houses of Parliament and two along Victoria Embankment. It was the first time there had been a Naval Pageant of such magnitude on the Thames. The timing of the pageant was thought by some to be linked with the vote in the House of Commons due on the 22nd July about the question of whether to build further Dreadnought class Battleships, happily the vote was passed and Britain was ready for what was to come in the First World War.
WWII British MTB. Not supposed to be one particular type of motor torpedo boat, more of a generic design based on several types.
Guns and helmets from BrickArms.
A small personal photograph about 1/3th in size of a postcard, but the picture is very clear luckily. The plane has just touched ground, well water in this case. The plane might be marked 63. It is likely to have been for reconnaissance.
The ship in the back is identified as a a Destroyer Torpedoboat of the II. Flottille (Flottillenchef: Fregattenkapitän Heinrich Schuur). It is the Torpedoboot-Zerstörer S.M.S. “B 98” (Flottillenführerboot): Kapitänleutnant Theodor Hengstenberg. It was made around 1914 by Blohm and Voss, hence the prefix B.
The B98 saw quite some action, it was hit by a torpedo once and hit a mine, both with casualties, but they always reached the harbor for repairs.
This ship was part of a large Imperial fleet which fought at the battle of Jutland in 1916 (Skagerrakschlacht). The British had 151 combat ships vs the 99 German ones.
After the surrender of Germany, the British massed a large fleet of German ships in the Scapa flow (at the Scottish island of Mainland. Ludwig Von Reuter, commander of the fleet ordered to sink their own ships, rather than handing them over to the British. The B98 survived this along with 7 other boats, but over 50 were destroyed. The British did end up scrapping the survivors later anyway.
