Though they could be mistaken for 18th century doctors' tools, some were put to good use in a fun evening of glassblowing at FLO in Ottawa's Little Italy.

While the ceiling is much lower downstairs, Fred Meyer managed to pack yet another decor surprise into the hardware section -- this long wall mural of tools! I actually quite like the art style here, plus it's way better executed than the last tool drawing we saw here.
Shooting Tool is harder than it looks. 1 song, 15 ft tall stage, completely backlit, Maynard hangs out at the far back of the stage, mostly obscured. Then sometimes you get lucky and he moves the mic out of the way.
This is my set of larger woodblock tools designed to be used with a hammer for extra power in removing wood. The set consists of two Soainomi for shallow cuts, three Asagata Marunomi (a shallow sweep), three Fukagata Marunomi (U-gouge), and a Kento Nomi which sole purpose is for making the traditional registration marks. At the top is a very nice English cabinetmaker's chisel, a shallow sweep. The Japanese tools came from McClain's in Oregon, the leather tool holder from Japan Woodworker in Alameda, CA, and the English sweep from a friend.
Some small layout tools I have made. The one on the far left is a sliding bevel of my design. It is designed to make it easier to lay out dovetails close to the edge of a piece of wood. The middle one is another dovetail layout square. Its odd shape enables you to rotate it with the little knob which sticks out, when you are near the edge of the wood again, where it is usually tricky to hold the square in place. The one on the far right is a simple little square designed to fit into the bottom of a dovetail where no other square will fit. It was a bit of a decadent luxury to devote so much time to cutting it out just for this one specific application, hence it is not the best finished in terms of polishing.
new tool testing seems good to me just didnt have time to hang around till it got darker to see its true colours

The Electric Oscillating Tool - EOT is ideally suited for cutting softer, medium-density materials. The high oscillating frequency makes it possible to cut at high processing speeds for greater throughput.

When you realize, that problem solving is the same for any system, I started in electrical and electronic Eng. Work in 3rd party computer maintenance. Then as I always had a PC from 8086 days,I pivoted to IT. Got paid badly, applied fault finding skills to fixing the cars. now I did a little Plumbing. I sometimes code in C++ for fun, need to learn Python.

I have challenged myself to complete 20 projects this year (big and small), and this one if the first one off the list.
I made a rolling cart for all of the different hand tools and drill bit attachments that I use most often; but the one thing I failed to include was a sturdy place to hand my tool belt. Until today...

Year Seventeen Of My 365 Project
Sometimes the best tools are just pieces of scrap from the bin. You use them once in a pinch and then they become fixtures in the shop. I use this bar all the time. It’s great for binder bolts, bridges, and front derailleur braze-ons like this one. On an unrelated note, happy new year everyone! #brazeon #flux #chapmancycles
