I've got that right, don't I?
A few have mentioned they never tire of fall foliage shots and I reckon we'll continue to test that theory for a while. The winds over the last few days have done their annual duty, yet the oaks endure as they tend to do, the last to give up the ghost...tho some only do so with the arrival of new buds in the spring, somehow hanging on throughout our trying winter.
Another very nice day for late October, so off we go to the canoe to enjoy a relatively rare windless day.

Happy Children roll an old tire down main street in Lhasa Tibet... Sometimes Simple Pleasures are best.
It’s been 13 years since I came upon these playful children in Lhasa, and yet this photo still warms my heart. I found the Tibetans to be a friendly and helpful people, as are most of the folks I have met on my journeys.

These are conservative or "low" Amish horses. The church district no longer exists. 10 years ago there was a schism. The conservative families moved and the remaining Amish became more liberal or "high" in adopting more technology and expanding the type of jobs that were allowed......................................................
The conservative Amish did not allow rubber on tires, tops on buggies, use of propane and required farming and lumber production as acceptable economic activities. The remaining turned to industrial farming practices building large Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOS). Unfortunately given few state pollution regulations and the isolation of the community the few regulations are not enforced. This has led to practices that pollute ground water...................................................................................
Unlike their co-workers the horses don't mind having their pic taken..... #kentstrock
