Wolfenbüttel is best known as the location of the internationally renowned Herzog August Library and for having the largest concentration of timber-framed buildings in Germany.
Wolfenbüttel liegt im Südosten von Niedersachsen zwischen Harz und Heide. Die Kernstadt liegt etwa 12 km südlich der Braunschweiger Innenstadt, rund 60 km ost-südöstlich von der Landeshauptstadt Hannover.
Entry to Stokesay Castle is through the truly delightful gatehouse, an elaborate example of the regional style of lavishly showy timber-framing. The gatehouse was built in 1640, a few years before Stokesays only known military encounter, when it surrendered without fighting during the Civil War.

Die Tiedexer Straße ist eine Straße der Altstadt von Einbeck in Niedersachsen. Sie ist wegen ihrer gut erhaltenen geschlossenen Zeile von Fachwerkhäusern aus der Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts eine Anlage von besonderem kulturhistorischem Wert und eine der von Touristen am häufigsten fotografierten Straßen in der historischen Altstadt. 15 der 16 Häuser auf der nördlichen Straßenseite stehen unter Denkmalschutz.

One of the splendid medieval buildings that have survived in Coventry showing off the beauty of timberframe architecture, highlighted by perfect winter sunlight.
On a recent walking week in Herefordshire we visited Brockhampton Estate a National Trust property set in 1700 acres this picturesque medieval manor dates back to 1425. The day we visited this beautiful house had some interesting cloud structure.

A sixteenth century type of garden at the Weald and Downland open air museum where houses have been reconstructed after being rescued from their original positions. It is a journey through history from Saxon times to Victorian days. It is also home to the Repair Shop of TV fame.
This beautiful 16th Century townhouse, once belonged Robert Raikes, he was an English philanthropist and Anglican layman. He was educated at The Crypt School Gloucester, he is noted and celebrated for his promotion of Sunday schools which pre-dated state schooling.

Founded in 1343, St James and St Paul church is one of the oldest timber framed churches in Europe. Marton, Cheshire England. Hasselblad X2D.
The building dates to 1474 and was the Governor's House during the Civil War, when Newark was subjected to two sieges (1643 and 1646). Prince Rupert stayed here in 1645. Newark On Trent, Nottinghamshire, UK.
The Great Gate, or St. Mary's Gate, was the main entrance to the monastery's outer court now Gloucester Cathdral, St, Mary's gate is adjoined to the timber framed grade II listed building which was built in the early 15th century.
Church house is a grade II listed black & white timber framed building, one of many historic houses in the market town of Ledbury, Herefordshire. The building is at the top of church Lane next to other historic buildings and only a short walk the the church of St. Michael and all Angles.

This timber frame home, with its wood sheathing, stucco finish and copper-roofed verandah, was originally a farmhouse designed to accommodate two generations of a family at once. With two front doors, a completely separate upstairs and doors to close off each wing, two families could live separately in the same home.
This design made the house ideal for the village doctor. While one section of the house could be used living quarters, the other section served as the doctor’s office and waiting room.
The building was dismantled and moved to Black Creek Pioneer Village in 1973. It was restored and opened to the public in 1978.
