Alder's is a fine watch and jewelry shop on Canal Street in New Orleans, LA. The bold presence and elaborate decoration of this four sided clock against the pale buildings in the background makes for an attractive sight.
Tick's pet, Speak.

saw this cute little bird (?female junko) and concerned to see something like a raisin on her left side. probably a blood-sucking deer tick. I didn't know they latched onto birds. I really don't Know about ornithology groups on FLICKR to share w/ --- so will share w/ "birders" I know.
I combed this female AMERICAN DOG TICK out of my hair after a day trip to Cottage Grove, Oregon. I likely picked it up while out shooting some of the covered bridges in the countryside east of that town.
Any resemblance to your elected representatives is purely coincidental.
Whenever the vet removes a tick or other parasite from an animal it goes into this jar filled with rubbing alcohol. It's pretty gross (especially since they kinda look like kernels of corn with legs).
A reminder to watch out for these "other worldly" creatures.
This is a U.K. sheep tick ... a youngster at 3 mm. long.
I saw it walking across Frankie's fur ...... just in time.
Though he did get a bigger one last week that had latched onto his shoulder.
Day 360: Back on Jan. 10, I shot the Tick Tock from the car, saying I had plans for another photo for which I'd need more time and a tripod. Tonight, I went back with those things, but discovered the shot I wanted isn't possible. I'd hoped to get the neon sign coupled with streaks of light from the tail- and headlights of the cars on Route 3, but several factors make that shot a figment of my imagination: A bright sign for the neighboring business would compete with the Tick Tock sign; a street lamp shines directly toward me in all the vantage points I tried; and one of those spots, a neighboring parking lot elevated to nearly level with the Tick Tock sign, has a fence that gets in the way.
But as I got back into the car, I discovered this composition, which is actually an idea I had years ago, when we first moved to Clifton and my car was black. I'd hoped to one day shoot the reflections of the neon in the black car, ideally with a rain-slicked parking lot also reflecting the colors. But a white car -- and its windshield -- works just as well, whether or not the asphalt is shimmering with the reflection of fresh rain.
My ode to Peter Pan and poor Captain Hook! Was this what he looked at moments before he lost his hand? J
