You wouldn't see me hopping this fence to wade through tall grasses so as to get a better perspective or angle for a photo. Mosquitoes aside, there are likely ticks-a-plenty, just waiting for me.
“Tick-Tock Tick-Tock Memory
The tick tock tick tocks goes the clock
The memory in my heart not aged but I am aged,
As the tick tock tick tock goes on.”

The thing with broken clocks is you can always tell when they stopped ticking;
With people it isn't so easy, and some times you cant even tell their broken.

So many ticks on the way, maybe I'm also very sensitized to them but today I've seen over 30 pieces
They sit by the wayside on the fresh green, take care of you !!
The little beauty in the background is called Lesser Celandine

"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine
Staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long
And there is time to kill today
And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun"

While doing photography I came across these pansies. Noticed, after editing , there was a tick on one of them, just sharing it to make sure people are aware where the location is.

Ink and ecoline ink on paper. The Plimsoll Mark indicates whether a ship is overloaded. If it remains visible after loading, the first mate, who is responsible for stowage, can Tick off his checklist.
This is my tick magnet in action! He follows these 3 simple failsafe steps to ensure he maximizes the ticks he picks up each time.
1. Runs ahead of me, so I can't stop him
2. Rolls around in the grass
3. Looks adorable, so I tickle him and get some too
The W7 Bull-Tick is one of the most dangerous and irritating weapons in an army's arsenal. This type of nanobot is sent out in massive swarms which infiltrate enemy ships and bypass defenses. They then begin to sabotage engines and drain fuel and energy through their fangs into the storage tank on their back. This process leaves a full battle cruiser defenseless and immobile within minutes.
Another quick build. Getting the tank to fit underneath the body took ages :I
A tick! Dried out, lifeless and drained of the blood it had sucked, I found it in my dog's bed. An exposure with 5x magnification and a story emanated from the motionless body... small but feared with an almost extraterrestrial appearance, there is after all a beauty in what people call one of the least necessary life forms on our planet.
I never got any ticks on the old patch but living in Sussex is very different.
In the summer of 2021 & 22 I picked up ticks whilst trying to find butterflies.
This year I'm more prepared. Socks tucked in trousers, white t shirt tucked in with a shirt doused in insect repellent.
I may look like a tit, but I'm tick free so far.
In an artzy mood today

Well, this is little Tick-Tock, from Peter Pan, who had bitten off the hand of Captain Hook with the result that the Captain ended up with a hook hand!!

You don't really know how big these are to you actually see one. It was on the "Tick List" for David as He'd never seen one whilst we were on Mull in July. We managed to locate a few good sites where they were. While walking up the road & i nearly trod on this one.

The other day I found out that Seed Ticks exist. I was horrified, but also saw opportunity.
The backstory is not nailed down yet, but he is one of the most effective hitmen in the businesses. Having the ability to shrink down to the size of a Seed Tick, he utilizes an array of poisons and diseases that he introduces into the victims body, either killing them immediately or destroying them from the inside over time. He knows what concoction to use and the exact amount to kill one in a specific time window, making it look as if it was natural causes instead of foul play.
