Rodin sculpted this image of the Thinker in 1876. The story is based on Dante's Inferno. He is seated at the gates of hell, watching the Inferno, and brooding in contemplation. His strong body is tensely twisted from his head to his curled toes, suggesting difficult intellectual anguish. While the right arm holds up the head, the left hand is open, as if ready understand the reality of his vision and to act upon it.

My wife and I both love art but I think one of these days we will be banned from modern and/or contemporary art museums. We just don't get it. I always love hearing a pompous turd trying to impress a date or friend by opining what the artist had in mind with some far out, possibly drug induced, viewpoints. We have no filters and it shows. We ask practical questions - like "Is this art or an unfinished maintenance project?". Being fiscally conservative (aka a tightwad) my reaction is "I really hope they didn't have to pay for this" or "Good Gawd, they paid $xxx, xxx, xxx for this???". Despite our lack of class and knowledge we really enjoyed the MOCA - it was spacious, the art and/or maintenance projects were cool and colorful. The staff was very polite and the museum is free. Two thumbs up. Life is good!
I took these photos in late January 2020.

Luca was wondering for being such a big stature he seems to be missing his junk.
At the age of 76, one might think Jesse White, who is seeking his fourth term as Illinois Secretary of State, would prefer riding inside a vehicle rather than hanging off the side of one (that's Jessie holding on by the door). But that's not his style, particularly when he's accompanying his famous Jessie White Tumbling Team. In case you missed the tumblers performing at President Obama's inauguration last year, you'll get to see them in action here.

Chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) are found in the rainforests of West and Central Africa in multimale-multifemale communities of up to and over 100 individuals. Within these communities the chimps will break off into smaller groups throughout the day to travel and feed. This is known as fission-fusion. There is a dominance hierarchy within the community, with the group being led by an alpha male. Competition for this top spot can be fierce, engaging in often aggressive displays to intimidate others. However males in this position often rely on allies and coalitions with others so social grooming helps form these bonds.
Chimpanzees live in a complex society, with cultural traditions being passed down through generations e.g. hunting and medicinal plant use. They also use and modify a wide variety of objects in their environment for tools e.g. leaf sponges, twig probes and stones and branches used as hammer and anvils or as weapons. The keepers at the zoo therefore spend much of their day thinking up new and ingenious ways of enriching the chimps.
Chimps are classed as endangered, and are mainly threatened by habitat destruction, both by logging companies and conversion of forest to farmland. They are also hunted to supply the bushmeat trade, and also get caught in snares that are usually set to catch other animals. Hunters also kill individuals within a group in order to remove infants and sell them on to the illegal pet trade.
"The Thinker" is a bronze and marble sculpture by Auguste Rodin, whose first cast, of 1902, is now in the Musée Rodin in Paris; there are some 20 other original castings, as well as various other versions, studies, and posthumous castings. It depicts a man in sober meditation battling with a powerful internal struggle. It is often used to represent philosophy.
