Alumni Weekend 2016 - College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment's "Under the Sea: Meet the Robotic Fleet" showcase held at the indoor pool in the Carpenter Sports Building. The event featured active and static demonstrations of various Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and gave visits the chance to try piloting a tethered ROV. Our neighbour tied this fairy figurine to the fence, presumably so the raccoons and squirrels wouldn't run off with it.
While aware that I could pay to get a piece of Nikon code to tether my camera, I stumbled across DIYPhotobits.com and their collection of scripts now called Camera Control.
Two words, LOVE IT. I can see the picture live (well after about a 3 second delay) on my computer, its amazing.
Installation and working the SW is a breeze. Although it not polished as you would expect it to be, it works amazingly well. Just set your camera to use MTP/PTP (under the USB settings) and it works out of the box.
To push to the external viewer, make sure you have the folder open ( I used Explorer).
It would be awesome if Camera Control could push to Windows default picture viewer (that way we could look at the picture in full screen).
And I have to apologize for the quality of this picture, my camera phone cannot do any better.
i did not like this shot at all until i cropped it, and now i love it. the pins are all tied to balloons at the checkout line. it makes me happy.

Shooting an artists booth in my driveway. Here I am using my D800E tethered to my mac book pro - shooting an artist's booth so they can apply to art shows.
This is Mega Moon, the world's largest kite.

Gone are the days where dogs knock over their food and water bowl while tethered outside. Thanks to our client Ed, pet owners now have a new product to turn to. The Better Tether offers a more humane tethering experience with a food bowl and stake, designed together, to prevent spills.
