No, seriously. That's a pit bull. Well, probably a pit bull mix, but still not a critter I'd want to mix it up with, even on my best day.
And hey! It was left tied to our front fence! Talk about peachy.
I didn't assume it would be aggressive, but upon my approach it gave me the low growl and bared teeth. So much for that. Guess I wouldn't be in a great mood either, if someone tied me with a short leash in a strange place.
I'm always amused when I see a smart phone user desperate for power at the airport - often leading them to linger in odd locations
My first time shooting tethered. Drastically increased my success rate shooting water drops with this setup. Primary use of the tethered setup was to nail the focus.
Shooting setup was 20D + Canon 100mm Macro F/2.8, wired shutter release, Canon 580exII, off camera left, approx 75 degrees. Cactus v4 wireless flash triggers. Various gift bags as the backgrounds, regular drinking glass wrapped with light purple IKEA wrapping paper.
Look closely. There's a cat there on the step, and it's tethered to the tree on the left. I can't imagine doing this, but the cat didn't seem to mind.

Safely tethered, 140ft high on the edge of the Baltic art gallery roof waiting for our turn to zip line! A bracing activity for a Saturday morning in the chilly North East of England, I can tell you! All in the name of charity, Sat Nov 1st.
900ft zip line across the River Tyne. BRILLIANT fun :-)
Olympus Control software. One can adjust pretty much everything from here. Tethered by USB to OM-D E-M1 Mk I.
More testing with the Tether MFD, using the Aercam/Sprint remote viewing spacecraft as an "assembly droid" to attach the tether to the appropriate points for tether-assisted assembly of the modules.
nature will bring this about. stillness to the point of outrage. it's like resting in your favorite comfortable chair, it energizes and then suddenly a surge of motion will come about (at times slower than others).
the colors are starting to turn, so are the tides.
How I would love to jump into the boat and row up and down the river to get a different perspective.
The balloon was until this season tethered in the Lower Pleasure Gardens in Bournemouth town centre.
It has just failed it airworthyness thingey, but hopefully will be back soon
I thought some of you might find these photos interesting.
It has to have a security guard all night, as this area more than its fair share of anti-social drink and drug induced behaviour late at night.
What is most fascinating to me is the Parks and Gardens recent change of planting policy.
All the beds in this area were planted in a formal style originating in the Victorian era, and one was even 'carpet' bedded and sometimes had the town crest or a clock.
As this way of working became less cost effective, the team have turned to big bold herbaceous plantings which I think are far more beautiful, and so much easier to maintain.
They also don't show any minor vandalism damage, which affected the earlier bedding schemes very badly.
The church in the background was St.Andrews Presbyterian Church, then a nightclub, an eating house, and is now possibly going become a more multiple use building.
I love the fact that in our parks anyone can sit on the grass, unlike in France for example: I just wish that everyone would remove their own litter!
