Week 29 in 52 Weeks for Dogs.

This week I've tried a couple of things which haven't worked at all; running out of time I consulted my 'inspiration' list and came up with this one. Taivas and Tasku weren't impressed at having to lie so close together.

studio 26 triangles in composition. Four triangles here, the obvious ones from the dogs' heads, and less obvious, the ones formed from the spaces. I like this composition but can't say why (or even if) it works.

Yes, Symmetry but when I look at these things these days they provoke all sorts of other thoughts aside from the visual aspect.

Symmetry is always fun to capture as it is just so pleasing on the eyes. That with the addition of high contrast caused by the shading trees above help make an awesome mood.

The (Joakim) Wall photographing a wall

Over the years we've harvested a lot of interesting things from the beaches in Baja. Whale vertebrae, sea lion bones and vertebrae, dolphin vertebrae, turtle shells and sea shells. I think that this might be a dolphin vertebrae, but I'm not positive. I've brought home some of everything except the turtle shells. U.S. border immigration is getting really difficult about bringing some of these beach treasures back into the U.S. The whale vertebrae was brought back at least fifteen years ago. I wouldn't do it now. Three years ago immigration took away a sea gull skull. Go figure.

Strobist info: Lit with one YN560-II in a 24 inch softbox, camera left, about 4 inches from the bone. I used a reflector to bounce a little light back on to the dark side of the shell. The flash was triggered by a Yongnuo RF603N.

I know that this isn't a shell, but it's kind of related so I put it in my Shell set which can be seen here ......... www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157626043932290/

I went to go see "Knowing" the other night at this theatre and had to come back to photograph it. I'm not sure if I liked the movie or the theatre better. I think I need to stray away from HDRs because I'm starting to forget how to make a good photograph without using photomatix. I thought this picture was neat because it kind of looks like a face.

This is a photo of a detail on the support base of a sculpture of a shark that is located on the waterfront in Yarmouth. Using the LunaPic website, I mirrored and copied the image twice to create this mystical vision.
