Two buildings overlooking the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge:
Frank Gehry's 76-story tower in lower Manhattan, completed in February 2011 has a titanium and glass exterior. The building is known as New York by Gehry and is the tallest residential tower in the Western Hemisphere. The building has an elementary school for 600 students on the first 5 floors and 890 rental units.
Verizon recently sold its windowless skyscraper since computers have rendered obsolete the bulky switchboards that the building once housed. Sabey intends to redevelop the property as a major Manhattan data center and technology building. The building is now referred to as Intergate.Manhattan.
